Daniel K. Cahn was admitted to the bar in New York in 2002, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York in 2002 and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit in 2007. He is an attorney in good standing with the state of New York. Mr. Cahn earned his Juris Doctor degree from St. John's University in Jamaica, New York in 2001. Since then, he has joined the Suffolk County, New York and American Bar Associations. He currently serves on the Pro Bono Panel for the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. Richard C. Cahn was admitted to the bar in New York in 1956, Florida in 1966, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York in 1960, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit in 1967 and the U.S. Supreme Court in 1960. Mr. Cahn earned his LL.B. from Yale University in 1956, where he was inducted into the Phi Alpha Delta international legal fraternity. At Yale, Mr. Cahn served on the board of editors for the Yale Law Journal in 1954 and served as a student assistant to the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York in 1955. After graduating with honors from Yale, Mr. Cahn was welcomed into the U.S. Attorney General's Program for honor law graduates in the 1956 to 1957 term. Mr. Cahn began his legal career at the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C., where he served from 1956 to 1957. He later became the principal assistant district attorney in Suffolk County, New York from 1965 to 1966. Thereafter, he served as the deputy town attorney for Huntington, New York from 1966 to 1968. Mr. Cahn also served as the hearing officer for the New York State Department of Education from 1971 to 1977. During his term, he had the distinguished honor of serving as a special district attorney for Suffolk County in 1972. Mr. Cahn was retained as regional counsel for the State University of New York from 1972 to 1990. Mr. Cahn taught as an adjunct professor at Touro Law School from 1988 to 1994. He is published in the Fall 1990 edition of the Touro Law Review in an article is entitled "Determining a Standard For Housing Discrimination Under Title VIII." Mr. Cahn was on the board of directors of the Stony Brook Foundation from 1974 to 1986. He was a Supreme Court–appointed referee from 1976 to 1978. He served on the Screening Committee for bankruptcy judges and Screening Committee for U.S. magistrates for the Eastern District of New York from 1976 to 1980 and in 2004. He was appointed special counsel for disciplinary matters for the U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of New York in 2002. He served on the Advisory Committee for the U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of New York from 1980 to 1983. He served on the board of directors for the Eastern District Civil Litigation Fund, Inc. from 1982 to 1995. He was a member on the governor's judicial nominating committee for 2nd Department from 1975 to 1979. He was the director of the Federal Bar Foundation from 1990 to 1993 and a trustee of Adelphi University in 1997. Mr. Cahn also served as chairman of the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce between 1995 and 1997. Mr. Cahn was born on June 11 in Brooklyn, New York.
